Overview

Equinox and OSGi incrementally guides you through building an application. It focuses on OSGi and its application to building highly modular and dynamic systems. Equinox and Eclipse are used throughout, but the lessons and code should be applicable to anyone writing OSGi systems.

About the Author

Jeff McAffer (Ottawa, Canada) led the Eclipse Equinox OSGi, RCP and Orbit teams, and was Senior Technical Staff Member with IBM Rational until late 2007. He is an Eclipse platform architect, member of the Eclipse Project PMC, the Tools Project PMC, the Eclipse Architecture Council and the Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors.

Paul Vanderlei (Grand Rapids, MI) is a software architect who has specialized in applying embedded Java, object-oriented design, agile development practices, and OSGi to diverse problem domains.

Simon Archer, a software developer at IBM Rational, has been using OSGi since 2001, in areas ranging from telematics and RFID to collaborative tool development.
